During embryonic development, crucial biophysical mechanisms have an impact in cell behaviour and ultimately in growth, morphogenesis and patterning. In the last decade, a combination of new high-resolution live imaging techniques, genetics and computational biology have provided an integrated framework to explore bioelectrical and biomechanical phenomena with a resolution so far difficult to obtain. This Workshop will bring together scientists working in different model systems and discuss some of the most recent advances towards the understanding of embryo physics.
